Scotch whisky cask investment company Whisky 1901 has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with professional Scottish golfer, Ewen Ferguson, currently ranked #131 in the world. The collaboration commenced in February with the DP World Tour 2024 at the Magical Kenya Open. Ewen will display Whisky 1901’s logo on his game wear and endorse the company through various marketing initiatives, including social media, advertising, and publicity campaigns, as well as attending exclusive events and networking functions. An annual corporate golf day hosted by Whisky 1901 will offer investors the opportunity to meet Ewen in person, with the added possibility of watching him play at sporting events throughout the year.

A mutually beneficial relationship, the sponsorship is expected to help raise Ewen’s profile within the sports industry, enhancing his visibility amongst professionals, fans, sponsors, and potential partners, as he competes in the DP World Tour 2024 and at the Scottish Open in July 2024. Via ongoing financial support, the collaboration also opens up opportunities for Ewen’s professional development, including mentorship, guidance, and career advancement.

Ewen Ferguson comments on his new sponsorship deal: “I am delighted to confirm my multi-year partnership with the amazing Whisky 1901. To represent a global company with such strong links to Scotland is something I am very proud of. The whole team at Whisky 1901 have been so welcoming and their company values of honesty and transparency perfectly align with what I stand for. I look forward to representing them on my travels as I compete globally on the DP World Tour.”

Whisky 1901’s sponsorship of professional golfer Ewen is a testament to the enduring relationship between two Scottish treasures – whisky and golf. The Scotch cask investment company is committed to supporting the golfing industry and this latest collaboration follows sponsorship of the Ride of the Legend’s Charity Golf Day last year.

Aaron Damiano Sparkes, Founder and CEO of Whisky 1901, said of the sponsorship: “Ewen Ferguson was a natural choice for several compelling reasons. Firstly, his Scottish heritage aligns perfectly with the ethos of our business, which is steeped in the rich tradition of Scottish whisky craftsmanship.”

“His family’s passion for whisky further solidifies this connection, making the partnership a genuine reflection of shared values. Beyond heritage, his exceptional skills on the golf course are undeniable, promising thrilling performances and valuable exposure for our brand. Equally important is his magnetic personality, which resonates with audiences and enhances our brand image.”

“Looking ahead, his potential for greatness in the sport hints at long-term benefits for both parties, making this sponsorship a strategic investment in both talent and synergy. Together, these factors make sponsoring Ewen through Whisky 1901 an exciting and mutually beneficial endeavour.”

Ewen Ferguson turned professional in 2016, making his European Tour debut in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Representing Scotland, Ewen claimed his maiden Tour title with a one-shot victory at the 2022 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and later that season, went on to become the first Scotsman to win more than once in a single season since 2012, when he was victorious at the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics.
