THE ISPS HANDA WORLD INVITATIONAL MEN | WOMEN PLAYED AT GALGORM SPA & GOLF RESORT IN NORTHERN IRELAND IS ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE AND EXCITING EVENTS ON THE EUROPEAN SCHEDULE. MODEST! GOLF ARE DELIGHTED TO BE ONE OF THE DRIVING FORCES BEHIND THE TOURNAMENT.

Modest! Golf has been actively involved with tournament golf at Galgorm for over five years now. The World Invitational was formerly known as the NI Open and Modest! Golf was key to raising the profile of the event. The NI Open broke all attendance records on the European Challenge Tour as spectators spilled through the gates at the Ballymena venue each year.

In 2019, the event was elevated to a completely new level with the introduction of the ISPS HANDA World Invitational Men | Women that pitched men and women together to compete for an equal share of the prize purse for the first time in Europe. Modest! also introduced a number of innovations off the course, creating an atmosphere like no other with the Galgorm Live Music Festival, the VIP Players’ Party and much more.

After a forced absence from the schedule in 2020, this year’s edition promises to return bigger and better than ever, as the European Tour, LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour join forces this summer for a new chapter in the event’s history. Off the back of its 2019 success, the tournament has been elevated to European Tour status in the first event of this format to be tri-sanctioned in the Northern Hemisphere.

Again set to be played over two courses, Galgorm Castle and Massereene from July 28 – August 1, the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by Modest! Golf will form part of the European Tour’s exciting 2021 UK Swing, providing equal opportunity to the 144 men and 144 women who will compete for an equal split of the sizable $2.35 million purse.

Not just significant for the financial reward on offer, the tournament will count towards the European Tour’s Race to Dubai and carry Team Europe Ryder Cup points, while the women’s tournament will count towards the Race to the CME Globe for women on the LPGA Tour, the Race to Costa del Sol on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and Solheim Cup points for both Team Europe and Team USA.

The tournament ethos of providing genuine opportunity for everyone is perfectly aligned with Modest! Golf’s vision for the game and the future of golf. Modest! Golf are not only long-term supporters of the World Invitational (and previously the NI Open), they are key to the overall vision and strategy of the event.

The World Invitational’s innovative new format and pioneering ways means the tournament’s global reach has broken into new TV markets in North America and Asia to complement already established viewing audiences across Europe.
